Painting and design have always been my passion and I am lucky enough to have made a career by doing the thing I love most. I am fascinated by colour and form, and use this to create portraits and paintings that are exciting and full of life, capturing the vibrancy of children, the energy of dogs and horses, the complexity of flowers, the patterns of landscapes and the beautiful shapes of hens. Animals have always been a part of my life, my love and knowledge of horses gives me a huge insight into their individual characters, and my love of dogs has now led me into a studying and practicing as a canine behaviourist and trainer. Understanding your dog's body language and character when meeting them enables me to capture this on the paper when I paint.
As a keen gardener and garden designer my understanding of design and form of plants coupled with a love of architecture puts me in a good position to capture your house and garden in a portrait, at that special moment in the seasons when the garden iand light is at its best.
In the past I have bred rare breed White Faced Woodland sheep, and owned Dexter Cattle, as well as having a multitude of different hens and cockerels. I currently live in the beautiful county of Herefordshire near the Gloucestershire border, with four dogs, two horses, three sheep and five black bantams, who will shortly feature in my paintings.
In addition to painting I have also worked on many house and garden design projects, from total refurbishments and new builds to small extensions. I derive huge satisfaction and pleasure from making a house and garden work for their owners in every sense.
